Prime Minister Imran Khan formed a youth force of volunteers called ‘Corona Relief Tigers Force’ to distribute food at homes amid coronavirus pandemic in the country. The registrations for this cause will be carried out on the PM Office portal, starting from today, till April 10.
The initiative will comprise of young volunteers in Pakistan, catering to the needs of deserving people, amidst the lockdown. Subsequently, they will be delivering food to areas under lockdown, and disseminate awareness to the public.
Furthermore, the Tiger Force will work in collaboration with civil administration and army to contain the spread of COVID-19, under the monitoring of PM’s office committee.
How to register for it?
Being a part of the ‘Corona Relief Tiger Force’ is extremely easy. Nevertheless, those under the age of 18, wishing to apply, just need to download the Citizen Portal application. Following, the portal will display a digital form, seeking the following requirements:
- Aspirant’s mobile number.
- Name
- CNIC
- DOB
- Union Council (UC)
- District
The selected volunteers will be working alongside the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Also, the volunteers will be providing provide ration bags and help at the quarantine centers and hospitals. Whilst, collecting data about patients for the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the government was fully aware of the problems of the low-income and poor segments of the society due to lockdown. Only for this cause, the authorities have formulated the idea of such as task force.
Imran Khan’s Corona Relief Fund
In an address to the nation on Monday, Prime Minister Imran also announced a ‘Corona Relief Fund’ at the National Bank of Pakistan where charitable contributions can be made. Nevertheless, those tax-filers who will make these charitable contributions will not have any tax tribulation. The account number for any donations is 4162 786 786.
Initially, the relief package will be around 8 billion dollars, with the proposition that it will increase after the government receives more funds. Additionally, Khan proclaimed that the State Bank of Pakistan will be lending loans to industries on low markup. So that they do not lay off their employees.
Regarding his scheme, the PM asserts: “At this time, whatever decisions the government takes, I am fully responsible for them. Importantly, All the economic decisions are being taken with a consensus of my economic team.”
