Wahab Riaz, a fast bowler for Pakistan, has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a career spanning 15 years for his country. Despite this, he plans to continue playing cricket for a franchise.
Wahab represented Pakistan in 27 tests, 91 one-day internationals, and 36 Twenty20 internationals during the course of his career, with his final appearance coming in 2020. He took 83 wickets in tests, averaging 34.50 runs per game, 120 in one-day internationals, averaging 34.30 runs per game, and 34 in twenty-20 internationals, averaging 28.55 runs per game. In the most recent season of the Pakistan Super League (2023), he played for Peshawar Zalmi.
Wahab has been active in politics as of late, having been given the role of interim sports minister for the province of Punjab in January of this year.
