Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It is the most significant event of Islamic faith and unity in the world. It is for those who are physically and financially able to perform.
In order to make the upcoming hajj more efficient and reliable, the Prime Minister had an important meeting with the ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. In this meeting, the government decided to digitalize the hajj operation in upcoming years.
The main aim of the government is to make sure the pilgrims can perform all the process very easily while applying for hajj. Where pilgrims can access every information related to pilgrimage and facilitate quick solutions to any problems.

Dr. Umar Saif, Federal Minister (IT and Telecommunication) who also worked as the chief digital officer of Jang/Geo group, and Mr. Aneeq Ahmed, Federal Minister (Religious Affairs and interfaith Harmony) also chaired the meeting. While meeting , caretakers discussed the current hajj operations system, and tried to solve the pilgrims’ hurdles by the digital transformation effort.
