Mohammad Amir slams BCCI over their childish behavior and disrespecting Pakistan Cricket Board. Amir is one of the vocal and former Pakistani pacers who showed his bowling skills in a previous encounter against India.
BCCI accepted the hybrid model yesterday, as ICC convinced them to be part of the Asia Cup 2023. Since then BCCI had faced backlash over its arrogant behavior.
While talking about the Asia Cup 2023 venue saga, Amir expressed his general disregard shown towards the PCB by the BCCI. We all know how BCCI took a U-turn at the last moment and refused to travel Pakistan.
Mohammad Amir Slams BCCI
Having a conversation with the interviewer, Amir said that, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is being completely written off, which means it is being treated disrespectfully. It’s like the cricket board, or Pakistan cricket itself, has no worth at all, and they [BCCI] are making continuous efforts to prove that.”
“It is being proven that whatever you do, it doesn’t affect us, and it’s like if you tell a child not to eat chocolate, he will say I will eat it and will continue to say the same thing. Whenever PCB says to do this or that, BCCI comes up with various lame excuses like bad weather, the expenses are too high, security reasons,” he added.
Mohammad Amir is the one who called Babar Azam an average batsman, but later he cleared the air by stating that Mohammad Amir clarified his statement said. Babar is the best batsman out there.
Security Concerns
Addressing Security concerns, Amir praised PCB for their hospitality to the International Cricket Council (ICC) visiting delegation and made sure essential security measurements were taken.
He even highlighted that the cricket world should primarily focus on promoting cricket peacefully rather than being worried about security.
“There is only one model, and that is cricket. Let it stay right; whether it’s happening in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh, please let it happen peacefully behaving like stubborn children. If someone creates a security issue even in Pakistan, the ICC team was here four days ago; I was also there at the National Cricket Academy. PCB provided them with such hospitality,” he concluded.
