Ramiz Raja, a former cricketer and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently made some remarks regarding Men in Green skipper Babar Azam in compairing with don bradman.
Babar Azam Compares With Don Bradman
Azam, who is now ranked first in ODI cricket, is one of the best batters in the world.
“Babar is no less than Don Bradman,” said Ramiz on his YouTube channel “Ramiz Speaks”. Because of Babar’s impressive statistics, he also referred to him as the best white-ball cricket player.
He has statistically surpassed all other players in the world at white-ball cricket, the man claimed.
Ramiz believes that given the high-risk nature of the white-ball game, Babar’s consistency has been just extraordinary.
“I have never seen so much consistency from a player in such a risky format. The base of which is his technique and temperament. He has no technical issues, whether it is a grassy pitch or a pitch like Karachi, where bowlers generally struggles,” Raja said.
Earlier, in the fourth game against New Zealand in Karachi, Azam struck an outstanding century to lead Pakistan to a crushing 102-run victory and break another world record .
As his team scored 334-6 from its 50 overs, Azam hit a 117-ball 107 to score his team’s record-breaking 5,000th ODI run.
He surpassed the milestone in his 97th ODI innings, breaking Hashim Amla’s previous record of 101 innings. This was his 18th ODI hundred.
With considerable resistance from captain Tom Latham (60), Mark Chapman (46) and Daryl Mitchell (34) New Zealand was bowled out for 232 in 43.4 overs.
Usama Mir, a leg-spinner, spearheaded Pakistan’s bowling effort with a career-best 4-43, and pacers Mohammad Wasim (3-40) and Haris Rauf (2-37) also performed admirably.
