Asia Cup 2023 venue debate isn’t over and ICC World Cup 2023 venue came in between. Pakistan Cricket Board has already stated that they will not travel to Pakistan due to major security issues. It is later stated that world cup might play at a neutral venue.
Even the General Manager of Cricket for the International Cricket Council (ICC), Wasim Khan, also believes that Pakistan might play World Cup 2023 matches at neutral venues, unlike others.
And luckily PCB sticks with its original decision. Wasim Khan told the local media outlet about the high chances of Pakistan ending up playing ODI World Cup matches at neutral venues.
Wasim Khan On Pakistan Playing World Cup At Neutral Venue
Former CEO of PCB Wasim Khan having a conversation with the media outlet, Wasim Khan stated “I don’t know if it would take place here on in a different country but a neutral venue is highly likely. I don’t think that Pakistan will play their matches in India. I think their matches will also be held at a neutral venue just like India’s Asia Cup matches.”
As per the media reports, Pakistan is also considering the possibility of playing their World Cup matches at a neutral location.
PCB initially announced that they will not travel to India for World Cup if they aren’t coming to Pakistan for Asia Cup.
“I don’t know if it would take place here on in a different country but a neutral venue is highly likely,” the former CEO of the PCB said in an interview with a local TV channel.
Pakistan Cricket Board working on a different level not to compromise on their terms. For Asia Cup 2023, PCB has proposed a ‘hybrid model’ to the ACCI to solve the venue issue.
