Twelve days back, a 10-day-old baby girl disappeared from her house in Karachi. Police have now claimed to have arrested the accused who kidnapped the baby.
According to the details, the mother fell asleep after she made her baby girl sleep. The incident occurred in the evening at her house in Karachi’s Al-Falah Housing Society. When the woman woke up, she found that her newborn baby was missing and the main gate of the house was opened.
The distressed woman informed her husband and family about the incident. They searched for the girl. However, all their efforts went in vain. In order to resolve the mystery, the girl’s father obtained video footage from a nearby installed CCTV camera.
In the footage, two burqa-clad women were seen coming out from her house. One of the women was carrying the infant in her hand. Subsequently, the police registered an FIR and launched investigations into the kidnapping.
On Thursday night, the police claimed to have resolved the mystery surrounding the abducing of the infant. Turns out, their close relative kidnapped the newborn baby.

According to the reports, the police arrested the newborn baby’s khala (aunt) and other relatives with the help of the CCTV footage.
After the family saw the footage, they recognized one of the women in the video who was the girl’s khala. In addition to this, the police recovered the missing girl. As of now, both the women have been taken into custody.
This is not the first time such an incident has come to the limelight. A few years back, in what can only be described as a horrific scene, the CCTV cameras of a well-known hospital in Karachi captured footage of what seemed to be a woman kidnapping a newborn baby.
In the same year, police officials in the province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa arrested a gang of people that were disguised as hospital staff. It was alleged that they would steal newborn babies from hospitals and maternity homes and sell them to people who were interested.
Later, an official statement by the police stated that the women in the gang were female doctors and nurses who wanted to earn some cash. So they decided to form this gang and sell kids to potential buyers for huge amounts.
