Like a lot of people, Mike Hudson, too, longed to have a break from his monotonous work life and to experience an adventure by traveling around the world. To make that dream a reality, Mike Hudson quit his job as a systems engineer in 2013, gave up most of his possessions and started with the gigantic project of converting a 10-years-old van into a mobile home called Vandog.
Hudson bought a rust-covered LDV Convoy on eBay. It took 5 months of hard work to transform it into a cozy, comfy, and a self-sufficient camper, equipped with all the basic necessities. The van has an extendable bed, a work desk area, speakers, plenty of storage space, a large hammock, gas burner, sink, fridge and freezer, pressurized water system with a hot water option, toilet, shower and LED lighting. The electricity is generated by the solar panels installed at the top of the van. The timer lined interior makes it more attractive. The main energy source, gas, is stored in an LPG cylinder which can easily be refilled at the petrol stations.
After Mike Hudson completed the work on his van, in March 2014, he drove Vandog to the South of England from his native Hull. He boarded a ferry and crossed the pond. Ever since, he has traveled all over Europe, covering countries like Spain France, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, etc. Mike Hudson, the 25-years-old travels exhibit no signs of slowing down. He wished to continue traveling and to experience all the adventure and excitement that life has to offer from the comfort of his amazing mobile home, Vandog.
