But now it looks like no need to worry about the organs anymore because U.S surgeons have found a solution.
Yesterday in New York something happened that no one expected. U.S surgeons have used a pig kidney for the implant in a human body and it’s the first time this happened. And most importantly it worked.

The surgeons have successfully attached the pig’s kidney to a recipient’s body without any difficulty. Even the recipient also agreed to use it, which gave more confidence to the doctors and the kidney worked immediately.
It’s the first time in the world that any animal worked paired up with the human body and it worked perfectly. The surgical team of NYU Langone Health attached the kidney to the blood vessels in the leg of a brain-dead patient on a ventilator, and found the organ began working “almost immediately.”
They monitored the performance for two days and there’s no sign of rejection found at all. As per the sources, surgeons didn’t fully implant the organ, they made a connection to the patient’s circulatory system which is the main tackle to survive.
Dr. Robert Montgomery shares the experience
The whole procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Montgomery, the director of the NYU Langone Transplant Institute.
As Montgomery stated, “successfully connecting the pig organ to the human blood vessels is a promising sign that it will work in a transplant scenario.”
He further stated that The fact that the organ functioned outside the body is a strong indication that it will work in the body, Dr. Montgomery said.
“It was better than I think we even expected,” he said. “It just looked like any transplant I’ve ever done from a living donor. A lot of kidneys from deceased people don’t work right away, and take days or weeks to start. This worked immediately.”

Big milestone – Dr. Dorry Segev
According to the experts, it’s a milestone that surgeons have achieved. “This is a huge breakthrough,” said Dr. Dorry Segev, a professor of transplant surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine who was not involved in the research. “It’s a big, big deal.”
According to the experts, the kidney was not implanted in the body, problems with so-called xenotransplants from animals like primates and pigs usually occur at the interface of the blood supply and the organ, where human blood flows through pig vessels.
