Renowned Pakistani actors Bushra Ansari and Asma Abbas’ sister, Sumbal Shahid is fighting for her life on the ventilator. Sumbal, who is also an actress, recently contracted the deadly coronavirus virus which went bad.
Her siblings have requested their fans and social media followers to make a prayer for their sister’s speedy recovery and health.
The Zebaish actor Abbas revealed the news of Shahid’s ill-health on her Instagram handle and asked everyone to remember her in their prayers.
Sharing a picture of herself with her elder sister, Abbas said: “Meri piyari baji is on [the] ventilator …please pray for her comeback.” Soon after, many fans of the Nand actor left well-wishes and small prayers in the comments section.
A few weeks ago, Ansari had also shared a photo of her sister and penned, “My darling sister Sumbul Shahid is fighting a battle with COVID-19 these days. Please pray for her speedy recovery. Char Chand salamat rahain ameen.”
Shahid is also known for Golden Girls, a show that she hosted back in the day. She is also popular for the drama serial, Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat.
Shahid last appeared in ARY Digital’s masala drama Nand. Actor Asad Siddiqui, who is also Zara Noor Abbas’s husband, took to Instagram stories and requested to pray for Sumbul’s recovery.
“A request to all, please pray for Sumbul Shahid, sister of Asma Abbas and Bushra Ansari. She’s on a ventilator. May Allah keep us all safe and healthy,” he wrote in the story.
Ninety-eight more deaths were reported due to COVID-19 over the last twenty-four hours across the country. This brings the death toll from the pandemic to 16,698. According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 5,857 new cases recorded in the country after the 5,7591 tests. The positivity ratio remained 10.16%.
