The trip from Karachi to Gwadar will be inaugurated next month by Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. After the increase of security in and around the Gwadar Port, it seems the government is now ready to slot CPEC in order. Gwadar Port, which is seen as the future of Pakistan, will now facilitate at least 400 passengers from Karachi, in addition to the large cargo vessel.
“The ferry will carry tourists, officials and general passengers between Karachi and Gwadar and will be faster than land transport,” said an official in the Ministry of Ports and Shipping. “This step will largely address the trouble faced by people traveling between the two cities.”

The unconventional ferry, first of its kind in Pakistan, will take around 13 hours to reach Gwadar from Karachi. The ferry offers one of its kind healthcare services, a high-profiled cafeteria and other basic facilities to make the trip worthwhile. The ferry will run between the two ports for 3 days a week, as well as on weekends.
