Ramadan is a month to break free from worldly affairs and respond to the needs of our souls. Allah created the soul such that it gets peace only by being close to Allah. Especially the last 10 days of Ramadan have great importance to seeking Allah’s pleasure.
Last Ten Days Of Ramadan Night Power:
The Night of Power, also known as Laylatul Qadr is one of the greatest blessings for the ummah. The followers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) expressed grief about not being given very long lives as those in the pre-Islamic era. They felt their life is not enough for the worship of Allah.
This level of sincerity and love for Allah pleased Him so much that he rewarded the ummah with the Night of Power. This is the night in which angels descend on Earth and observe who engages in worship. The reward for worship on this night is exponential times.
The Night of Power is one of the last five odd nights in Ramadan. The 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th of Ramadan can be the Night of Power. That is why we must spend the last days of Ramadan in Allah’s worship. We must recite Quran to act upon its commands. Apart from the obligatory prayers, we must offer voluntary prayers such as tahajjud and ishraq. Salat-ul
Tasbeeh is also one of the most rewarded voluntary payers. There are supplications and prayers for the last ten days of Ramadan that we must recite at all times to make the most out of this opportunity.
Performance of Itikaf:
Itikaf is a spiritual retreat in the last ten days of Ramadan. Men perform itikaf in the mosque, while women seclude in a peaceful area of their home. Women must get permission from their husbands or father for itikaf. During itikaf, a person disconnects from the whole world and submits oneself completely to Allah. He engages in remembrance of Allah, reads Quran, offers prayers, and socializes with religious people.
Itikaf in the last 10 days of Ramadan is a way to earn a huge reward. It is a sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He advised Muslims to perform itikaf at least once in a lifetime. Itikaf protects a person from the Fire of Hell. Moreover, it cleanses the heart from all sorts of evil and temptations, filling it with Allah’s love.
Charity During The Last 10 Days Of Ramadan:
Ramadan is a month of caring for others. It is a month of spreading joy and happiness by sharing whatever Allah bestows upon you with his creatures. By sharing your wealth with the underprivileged, you make Allah immensely happy and he showers his blessings upon you. Especially, a charity in the last 10 days of Ramadan has a huge reward.
Giving sadaqah in Ramadan is counted 70 times, whereas sadaqah on the Night of Power is equal to a good deed performed for more than 83 years. Charity protects a person from unforeseen calamities. It extinguishes the Fire of Hell for that person. Therefore, we must engage in charity during the last days of Ramadan.
The last days of this holy month have huge significance and benefits of astaghfar. Instead of wasting this precious opportunity by watching movies or hanging out, we must benefit from the virtues of Ramadan by engaging in prayer and worship.
