While the PSL management has not officially confirmed the addition of more teams, the report has caused excitement among Pakistani cricket fans.
Previously, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Najam Sethi suggested that due to overwhelming demand, the number of clubs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) could be extended to ten.
“There is tremendous pressure to increase the number of teams in the PSL, but Ehsan Mani and Ramiz Raja agreed with the franchises that only six teams will play in the next two years.” It was, nevertheless, an eight-team project. We need to persuade the franchisees to add two additional teams. Nobody will lose anything; if a franchise loses, the PCB will accept responsibility. However, there is a huge demand to include two more teams, and it will be more successful if many people express interest in participating. Let me tell you, even if there were ten teams currently, they would all be sold owing to great demand,” he stated.
