The caretaker government lowered the price of petrol by Rs 8 per liter on Monday, January 22, for the next two weeks.
The Finance Division announced the new prices for petroleum products for the ensuing two weeks, starting on January 16 (Tuesday), by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
Diesel, on the other hand, stayed at Rs276.21 per liter.
Kerosene oil and light diesel oil prices went down by Rs 1.97 and Rs 0.92 per liter, respectively, in the latest change.

The News reported on Sunday that sources said the price of petrol would go down by more than Rs5 and the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) might not change at all in the next review of fuel prices.
A senior government official told The News that the price of HSD was not likely to change even though the prices of POL (petrol, oil, and lubricants) have gone down on the international market over the past two weeks and the rupee has gained value against the US dollar.

The government has kept the prices of petrol and diesel at Rs 267.34 and Rs 276.21 per liter for the past two weeks.
After an Rs2.19 per liter drop, the price of kerosene oil is now Rs188.83. Light diesel oil, on the other hand, will be sold for Rs 165.75 after the government raised its price by Rs 1.11.
