Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) is facing its worst time in its political tenure. After the ruling throne was snatched from PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif, the party seemed to be struggling for stability. Well, after Nawaz Sharif was put behind bars, his daughter Maryam Nawaz took charge of the party but it looks like things are getting hard for her too.
Former Premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrested in Lahore!
After Nawaz Sharif was disqualified and arrested, PMLN’s senior member Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was nominated to complete Sharif’s tenure. According to sources, earlier this morning, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested the former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from Lahore. Abbasi was on his way to attend a press conference when NAB handcuffed him at the Thokar Niaz Baig Interchange.

Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is arrested in the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) import case. Reportedly, Abbasi is involved in handing over the Rs.220 billion tender to a company related to the LNG import case. It is also said that Abbasi was also a shareholder in the company. Now, he is named in the Exit Control List (ECL).
The incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan also issued a statement on Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s arrest!
PM Imran Khan stated that he received the news of Abbasi’s arrest during a council meeting. He further said that law is the same for everyone and that the government won’t interfere in the work of agencies.
