pcb starts pushup challenge

Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, all kinds of sports activities, including cricket, have come to a halt globally. As of now, there are no speculations as to when sports will even resume any time soon. Nonetheless, with no matches to play, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now started a pushup challenge for the players.

Owing to the news reports, the coronavirus nationwide toll has passed the figure of 2,000, with 26 unfortunate deaths.

PCB also nominates players in challenge

The PCB started the challenge two days back and posted a video of Azhar Ali, in which he was seen mastering pushups alongside the twist and throw exercise.

The captain of Pakistan’s Test team then nominated T20 captain Babar Azam, wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed, pacer Wahab Riaz and Asad Shafiq. Furthermore, the video also showed Azhar mentioning his somerset county club teammates, Tom Banton and Tom Abell, to take part in the fitness challenge.

Responding to Azhar’s provocation, fellow team compatriot Wahab Riaz shared a video of himself, where he moved the challenge forward.

Azhar completes Wahab’s squat challenge

In another video clip, Wahab was seen asking Azhar to perform 50 squats while passing on the challenge to other cricketers. The concept of this home-based activity is to regulate the importance of staying fit even during the COVID-19 crisis. After completion, all-rounder Imad Wasim, also got nominated.

Unquestionably, cricketers around the world are not being able to play matches due to this global pandemic. However, activities like the once started by the PCB are keeping them busy to an extent.
