In Islamic transcriptions, sin is defined as an act that goes against Almighty Allah. We know that all human beings commit sin, no one is perfect. So for this, we collect 8 surahs for the forgiveness of major sins.
Sin is something to be avoided as these actions are fun and pleasing for a second but afterward, these sins have serious consequences. They not only harm us but distract us from the purposes and aims of our life as well.
Almighty Allah and Holy Prophet (PBUH) have told us about various sins which can erase all our good deeds. They are considered destructive ones or major sins that can’t be forgiven easily but through repentance. As Allah says in Holy Quran that,
Here are a few Quranic surahs verses the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has told us about which can be recited if you are in seek of forgiveness for your major sins from Almighty Allah.
Surahs For Forgiveness Of Major Sins
1. Recite Surah Yunus, verses 85-86
So they said, “Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people. And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.”
2. Ayah Ghafir, verse 55 Is The Best One For expiating Your Sins
Indeed, the promise of Allah is the truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin and exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.
3. Recite Surah Al’Araaf, verse 23
They said, “Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.”
4. Surah Tehreem, verse 8
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, “Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are overall things competent.”
5. Surah Baqarah, verse 285
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.”
6. Surah Ibrahim, verse 38
7. Surah Ale Imran, verse 193
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgives us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
8. Surah Al-Furqan, verse 74
And those who say, “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”
May Allah grant us willpower so that we could stay away from these grave sins and accept our repentance by saying Astaghfaar all the time. Ameen!
