Ahmed Shehzad, who is impressing fans and former cricketers with his sublime performance in the ongoing National T20 Cup 2023/24, explained why he prioritizes the domestic competition over the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
A member of the Lahore Whites, Ahmed Shehzad, will represent them in the competition. With 213 runs from three innings at an average of 106.50, he leads the team in run scoring.
The right-handed batter, with 153 international matches and 5,058 runs, 10 centuries, and 25 fifties, revealed that despite receiving the No-Objection Certificate (NOC), he has refused a lucrative T10 contract to play for the Lahore Whites as he yearns to do so. Playing for his country first is Ahmed Shehzad’s goal to set an example for young people.
During the ongoing season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, I respectfully declined a contract because I have some unfinished business with my team, the Lahore Whites, in the National T20 Cup, and I want to continue playing domestic cricket in Pakistan,” he tweeted.
“I have always placed Pakistan first, and I will work hard to earn a place on the national team again.”
