There is no sin that cannot be forgiven after repentance. Repentance is the only way through which we can purify our soul and make it clean again.
At Tawab is one of the ninety names of Almighty Allah which means ‘The Most Forgiving One’, if one who has sinned turns towards Him and asks for sincere repentance, He will surely forgive him.
Major Sins Allah Will Not Forgive
However, according to various Quranic verses and hadiths, there are some great destructive sins that Almighty Allah will not forgive.
1. Alteration In Quranic Verses
Allah states in the Quran that, Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price – those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment – Surah Baqra, verse 174
2. Taking False Oaths
Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said,
“There are three persons whom Allah will neither talk to nor look at, nor purify from (the sins), and they will have a painful punishment. (They are): (1) A man possessed superfluous water on a way and he withheld it from the travelers. (2) a man who gives a pledge of allegiance to a Muslim ruler and gives it only for worldly gains. If the ruler gives him what he wants, he remains obedient to It, otherwise, he does not abide by it, and (3) a man bargains with another man after the Asr prayer and the latter takes a false oath in the name of Allah) claiming that he has been offered so much for the thing and the former (believes him and) buys it.” – Sahih Bukhari – Book 52, hadith 34
3. Withholding Water from Others
Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, To such a man Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection, ‘Today I withhold My Blessings from you as you withheld the superfluous part of that (water) which your hands did not create.’ – Sahih Bukhari, Book 97, Hadith 72
4. The One Who Disobeys His Parents
The Messenger of Allah said, “There are three at whom Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection: The one who disobeys his parents, the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance, and the cuckold. – Sunan Nasai, Vol. 3, Book 23, Hadith 2563
5. The Aged Adulterer
Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said Three (are the persons) with whom Allah would neither speak nor would He absolve them on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Mu’awiya added: He would not look at them and there is grievous torment for them: the aged adulterer, the liar king, and the proud destitute. Sahih Muslim, Book 1 Hadith 202
6. Breaking An Oath
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said once, A person who took an oath on the goods of a Muslim in the afternoon and then broke it – Sahih Muslim, Book 1 Hadith 205
May Allah grant us willpower so that we can stay away from these grave sins and accept our repentance and not include us in the list of people who have done this activity and caused sins in that Allah will not look at you, Ameen!
