An exceptional World Guinness Record for a teen girl dances for 127 hours straight to achieve a new milestone.
Maharashtra, an Indian state where a 16-year-old girl broke the record of the longest dance marathon after dancing “five days straight”. That’s unbelievable in every manner,
Srushti Sudhir Jagtap is the girl who danced in the classic form of kathak during her record-breaking attempt. No one knew that she would set a new record bar and leave everyone speechless.
In terms of hours, she did 127 hours straight from May 9 to June 3. Before her, Nepalese dancer Bandana Nepal’s 2018 record of 126 hours, according to a Guinness World Records press release, was in her college’s “jam-packed” auditorium.

“There were moments of her being too tired, but her parents were by her side all the time, spraying her face with water to keep her fresh,” Swapnil explained.
To be aware of this dance marathon system, participants get a break every five minutes to rest, which can be accumulated if they decide against using it. Srushti, only needed coffee as a stimulant to stay awake during her record attempt.
She used these breaks wisely at midnight, , when she either napped or talked to her parents, Sudhir and Sanjivani Jagtap.
Apart from dance, she also practiced Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, with her grandfather Baba Mane to gain “control over sleep”.
Shrushti’s Statement
“All my body parts felt frozen and in pain. But mentally I was focused towards my goal,” Srushti recalled in a statement from Guinness World Records.
But it was worth the toil as she achieved her dream of representing “India through dance”.
Srushti said her motivation behind the five-day-long endeavor was to “promote our Indian culture”.
A few months ago, a Pakistani family set a new world record for the same birth date.
