How far would you go for love? We have come across many tales of people going to extreme lengths for the sake of love, but those stories, unfortunately, hardly ever seem to have a happy ending.
Case in point, this man’s unmatched misfortune. Uziel Martínez, from Mexico, has claimed that he gave a kidney to his girlfriend’s mother, however, was dumped less than a month later.
Martínez, who is a teacher by profession, has gone viral after revealing his nightmare in love as part of a TikTok trend.
In a series of clips, he explained how he heroically helped save his partner’s mum by donating an organ. But little did poor Martínez know that even such a selfless act would not be enough to save his relationship, which was over within weeks of the operation.
To make matters worse, Martínez’s ex has now tied the knot with another man. “I donated a kidney to her mother, she left me and got married a month later,” he said.
The video has been going viral on TikTok and has garnered more than 14 million views, as per Daily Star. One person commented: “Don’t look so sad, she lost a great gentleman. Keep moving forward and find the perfect woman who appreciates you.”
Holds no grudges
In follow-up clips, Martínez responded to comments on his viral post, saying he was doing fine and didn’t hold any grudges against his ex. He said he was healthy, despite only having one kidney, was past the heartbreak. “I don’t have anything against her,” he said.
“We are not friends but we don’t hate each other. I only made [the video] for TikTok, I didn’t think it would get out of control,” he added, referring to the video’s wild popularity.
Another commenter begged Martínez not to make the same mistake again but he joked that he is now out of organs to donate. “We just have two kidneys and if I already gave one, I only have another one for me, so, I can’t feel it,” he quipped.
Indeed, love knows no bounds. Those who have been in love may understand the extent to which a person can go in order to make their loved ones happy. While Martínez was among such selfless people, his story took an unfortunate turn. Poor guy lost his kidney as well as his girlfriend.
Claiming to hold no grudges despite losing one kidney, Martínez maintained his decency. There are also people who go on to revenge their ex-partners, for instance, the time when a man ordered his ex-girlfriend food worth Rs13000 and the time when a boy virtually slapped his ex, who wanted him to pay for her eid outfit.
