Saudi Arabia is reportedly planning to open its first liquor store in Riyadh, the capital city, to attract non-Muslim diplomats. Although alcohol remains illegal for Saudi citizens, the store will require registration through an app, Foreign Ministry permission, and adherence to monthly quotas.
The initiative aligns with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s efforts to liberalize the country’s image, part of the broader Vision 2030 plan aimed at attracting foreign tourism and investment.
